Simply hiding is not always the solution either. Lockers, cabinets, and beneath tables can all be used to evade death – but be warned, line of sight must be broken or you'll be yanked out of your hiding spot and disembowelled through a number of disturbing and awesome animations. 2) Generally no new full releases of interest. Though we were monitoring developments in potential World of Warcraft killer New World and Left 4 Dead's spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood, we didn't see anything that could be discussed fairly. Not that anybody noticed but we skipped the last edition for a number of reasons. It's the game. The RPG Greetings, traveller, and welcome back to The Register Plays Games, our monthly gaming column. Witcher 2 used USM videos as well and yet I don't remember the cutscenes being like that. I'm pretty confident the game would still play them choppy. I wonder if its possible to extract and then re-render them with a better codec or process(not sure what you would call it) and then embed them back into the game directory. I don't always mind pre-rendered scenes as I grew up with them but games in recent years I think have spoiled us because when they can use the same in-game engine to render the scenes especially in real time, it makes for a more seamless, less jarring experience, even uncanny. I would think though that they could have rendered them more cleanly and smoothly so as to not look so rough and significantly different from the main game engine. Originally posted by Coot:I'm pretty sure as mentioned above the cut scenes are prerendered and were created some other way, totally separate from the in-game engine.
